Wixey Table Saw Fence Reader

I’m now registered and will eventually post some of my work. Meanwhile I have a question for those of you with the Wixey table saw fence reader. I just installed my Xmas present and after four batteries still cannot get a stable readout. Occassionally, I can reset to zero but once I move the fence the numbers become unstable and will not settle down. The operating manual trouble shooting section says this is because of a low battery but I have tried four batteries with the same result and they each have a charge of 3+volts. Any suggestions or should I just send it back to Woodcraft. -- Phil in British Columbia
