I need to repair this hand plane tote. I have had the plane for 30 years at least just to look at. The old glue holding the tote had failed long before I bought the tool.
What glue should I use?

Just glue it back in

Use hide glue—that would be both authentic, and if need be, reversible

And be SURE to properly clean the old joint before attempting any glue up.
