Topic tags/keywords: drill press table parts guardian power

I’ve got an old Guardian Power (BDM-58-5SP) drill press and I’d like to get another table for it. Trouble is I’ve not found any parts diagrams or other info online about it.

It’s basically a 12” round cast iron table with what measures to be about a 44mm post under it to fit the tilting clamp on the arm. I checked with Grizzly and the posts on their tables are 46mm or larger.

I checked at a local Sears and their floor model does appear to use a 4mm post, but it’s made from ridiculously cheap metal. More like ‘pressed tinfoil’ than anything close to resembling cast iron. Searspartsdirect lists $70 for that piece of junk. Um, no.

I’m looking for another because I’ve got a cross-slide vise that I’d like to keep mounted, as it’s tedious un/bolting and realigning it all the time. I also have a drill press table and I’d like to keep that mounted as well. I figure it’s a LOT less trouble to just swap the whole table & accessory combination rather than swapping the accessories around.

I’d be fine with a non-circular table.

Anyone know where I might find something suitable? Without breaking the bank of course.
