To Unisaw, or not to Unisaw that is the question.

I have been looking for a decent TS for about a year now and a 1950s Unisaw has come up on craigs list for ~$700. Not knowing anything about a saw 20 years older than me, I thought I could get some advice here. The seller claims its all origional runs like a dream except he has put a magnetic switch in it to protect the motor (which is origional). My question is first, am I asking for problems getting something that old. motor and parts are origional, can I expect longivity out of it? Also, are there any know issues or problems with this era of Unisaw or fence….it has origional fence. Sorry, I dont have a model number to list. I’m basically trying to figure if I should go for it, or look for something newer. I only want to bye once! Thanks for your advice.

There were some comments just the other day about a similar post regarding an older Unisaw. You could check them by trying the Search button at the top, type in old unisaw.

One comment mentioned the safety, older saws don’t have what the newer ones do, but add on safety equipment works too.

Personally, I would take a chance on older equipment, have in the past and never had an issue.

All the Best!
