Hello I have a deal for someone willing to travel, strong backs, and most of all loves woodworking 24/7.

Now this thing is very old, base is heart pine, 7 and a half feet long, needs a little work but its all there.
Good 1 1/2 hp motor( Baldor ? I think ) 3 tool post ,one 36 ins. long , one 24” and the one is about 8”s.
I do not know what the Morse taper is, I would say close to #2, it has a head stock driver, a face plate and other STUFF.
Lots of stuff parts, tooling, and dust. and it comes in at about 5 to 7 hundred pounds. It started life on a line belt in some factory.
The guy I got it from said he used it to turn bedpost ???
For the price and I am saying it could be free to the right person if their eyes light up !

I am in SC. so you have to pick up here, (NO KIDS OR DOGS ) sorry but that is the deal.

Just send me a message.

Daniel

Can you search google images and find something similar for an image? Do you know the brand? Parks made a lot of stuff like that. Probably a hundred small manufacturers.

When I said OLD I am saying over 100 years old.
I don’t think I will find any pictures but a good idea. Guess I will take some more pictures and try something else. My Photo program and the Canon program and not working so I can not retrieve them .
E-mail is about it for now.

I see a ton of pictures of a silver Camaro, cats, a John Deere tractor, some shots of you in a shop, a grizzly bandsaw, even you when you were in the Navy. But NONE of an old lathe

OK sorry Joe I fixed it, setting was on Friend and not public /!@^*??> I was thinking this would be easy. By the way I grew up in Jesup, Ga. so I am still a old Georgia Boy at heart.

Good luck hope you find them.

If you can upload the pics to facebook, why not just take a couple minutes and upload them to this thread on LJ and save people the hassle of navigating to other sites?

I can read COMPANY and CINCINNATI but not the makers name. Looks cool and I wish I was close! I think you should keep it, find a vintage motor and it’s a museum piece. Here is the manufacturer’s index of Cincinnati companies at OWWM:

J-T if you and anyone else does not have a couple minutes, this lathe will be more than you can deal with !
Read it all and maybe you will understand why.

For the right machine, I might be willing to drive up from Florida – but I can’t even find your facebook page, let alone any pictures :(

As others have said.. if you can upload them to FB, you can upload them here. If nothing else, at least provide a LINK to your facebook page that works.

Cheers,
Brad
