A friend was getting rid of a walnut tree and had the tree company save me some logs. I’ve been playing with some blanks, and finally turned a bowl thin enough that it shouldn’t need to dry for months. I’m keeping this one, so it’s ok if it warps a little. Anyway… Here’s the pics.

Beautiful. One of the reasons my next major purchase for the workshop is going to be a lathe.

I’m already starting to think I may need a bigger one soon. Lol

Eric, great first effort! I’m one year into my round obsession and I get very excited when I find a new chunk of wood to turn. Enjoy!!

Ya, my snowmobile is going to be paid off in November and always thought I’d just buy a new one, but since winter snowfalls have been so sucky, thinking I’ll take that loan out and buy a big lathe, accessories and maybe a CNC router.

Nicely done! It will be interesting to watch the drying process and see what it does.
