This is the first plane I had, a Buck Bros. smoothing plane from Home Depot. It goes without saying that it’s not exactly top-of-the line. If you want to use it as a plane, it’ll need tuning; if you want to use it as a handsome paperweight, it’s ready to go. Perhaps you have a friend or relative whom you’d like to save from becoming a hand-tool junkie, and if so, this is the perfect gift.

Seriously, though, this plane would be good for converting to a scrub plane, because it has a wide open mouth and you won’t feel bad about grinding down the blade.

$16 shipped, or $10 if you want to pick it up in the north Chicago area. If you’re also interested in the Irwin chisels I’m selling, I can combine shipping.
