Has Biesemeyer gone down the drain? What's the new standard?

My Craftsman 22124 was bought second hand and never came with the Biesemeyer fence it was supposed to have. Instead it has a BMeyer imitation, which, although works fine, doesn’t align correctly with the holes in my extension wings. Now that I’m looking to replace a wing with a cast iron router table extension, I figure now is the time to get my ducks in a row.

So here I am googling/Amazon-ing, for a Biesemeyer, and I see nothing but negative comments.

Have they gone to crap? And, if they have, who’s the new standard for a great T-square fence?

Verysupercool tools looks incredibly over complicated, and their ordering process has so many layers and separate components that it appears like I’ll be spending a grand across 30 different components til I get a whole working fence system.

Vega Pro’s product and website looks so old fashioned it gives me some discomfort.

I’ll most likely be grabbing the bench dog cast iron router wing..

I just went through this. Started a thread and everything. I went with the shop fox clone of the biese. Haven’t looked back yet. I don’t regret my decision for a second. Apparently you can still get a good biese if you buy it on a unisaw. New. Other than that, it has been outsourced and QC has gone to sh*t. I even heard from ythe lumber yard that they have dropped Delta entirely from their sales. This is a national organization of lumberyards BTW. Unfulfilled orders, missing parts, broken stuff, etc. It makes me sad to see such a high standard be put on the sidelines just to make the bottom line.

There are only 2 things you need from Verysupercool The aluminum fence and the T-square.That is if you have the proper rails. If not, you have to fabricate one. . I was going to go that route, but they didn’t fit my rails. I instead just ordered the machined fence and attached it to my existing fence to get that dead straight face and extra length. I’m not sure if that would work with your situation or not. Just another idea.

Vega fences are great. They are just a small company but the quality is there.

Have your say...
