This may be a premature post, I am not sure yet. I have bid a large 111’ of walnut cabinets. It will be an awesome kitchen if we get it. The customer told us that they are going to decide between us and one other bid they are getting next week. I put in a fair bid and hope I don’t get undercut but I think our bid will be very competative.

My question is, one of their cabinets will be bumped out (featured) and have a 1/2 round flute trim on left and right side with a corbel at the top of the 1/2 round flute and at the bottom we will do a bun foot just beneath the left and right 1/2 round flutes.

I need:

1. 52” of walnut 1/2 round flute, approximately 2” to 3” wide
2. 2 bun feet out of walnut
3. 2 walnut corbels, approximately 2” or 3”, to match width of 1/2 round flute width. The corbels would be nice at around 5” tall.

We are pretty good at a lot of things but I must say I have no lathe experience and we do not have a CNC. I have looked online and I cannot find any trim types of pieces made from walnut. My suppliers I deal with use maple, oak, hickory, alder, cherry, etc… If anyone has a lathe and a CNC or just a lathe and maybe someone else has a CNC and would like to help me with a small weekend project, I would be grateful and would pay a fair price. Or if anyone knows where I could get such items out of walnut for a fair price, that would be great.

Osborne Wood Products will mill any shape size lenght or wood. Just call and speak with a rep. You can even send them wood if you are using the same flitch or something.

Large American company with dirt cheap prices.

Rhett, anyone tell you that you are great! I was just stuck and when I have a hurtle to cross my mind seems to run non stop about how I can accomplish something. Of course I would much rather buy these types of items and your link is perfect!!!! Thank you so much. I picked out my items I will need in the event we get hired. I can get all of the 1/2 round flute, bun feet and corbels in black walnut for right around 150.00 so that is awesome. Thanks again.

Thanks Div, I am sure it will work out. You know I have not taken time to read those Gorilla books yet but I plan to soon as I can. I want to be a Gorilla! 8)
