For a while now I have been interested in getting or making custom router (or even hand plane blade) profiles. I want to make designs on the edge of the things I build that are custom looking but doing it by hand is not really an option. I am not good with hand tools (although I engrave writing with chisels).

Any ideas?

There are a few custom bit shops online you can Google them. Or you can use multiple bits to create a custom look.

magnate does custom profiles. Give them a call. I would almost bet that whiteside and amana will also offer this service.

I frequently have custom profiles made, but be prepared to spend quite a bit of money. There are quite a few companies that do that.

You can often use a combination of several bits to create a more custom look.
