This summer I plan to completely clean out (and up) my small workshop. I’ve got a number of good size storage containers (as well as smaller ones where necessary). I plan on taking everything out of the shop putting everything in a “categorized container”. If it doesn’t fit in one of those catagories – it gets chunked (at least that is the plan….I’m sure I’ll find a few things I simply can’t part with). Here is the list I’m starting with. Has anyone else categorized their shop in a similar way? I’d love to see how other people have done it. Also curious if anyone sees any major omissions on the list. After everything is cleared out, I figure I’ll have a head start of how to better organize my shop for workflow by seeing the amount of space needed by category. This is not to say I’ll keep all hand tools in one place, I may move some things around as needed. I’m just trying to get a handle on how to start sorting it all out for now.

Looks like a good start to me.
You will probably modify your list once you start and come across the “can not par with ” items.
