For those in the Northeast who do NOT know about it, the Live Free or Die tool auctions are held in Nashua, NH in April and September. The auctions, by Martin J Donnely, take place inside the Nashua Holiday Inn but the real action is outside in the parking lot where there is a great flea market.
I’ve gone in past years but had heard the flea market action had declined because the venue had started charging vendors for table space.
I had a chance to stop by quickly on the way up to Vermont this past weekend (on Friday, the first day of the event) and was happy to see there was lots of vendors with lots and lots of tools for sale. LOTS!
While I was there a van full of students from the North Bennett Street School pulled up and they were buzzing around like bees to honey.
MJD has posted some pictures on their website of the flea market action. Definitely something to put on your calendar if you can get to Nashua and love old tools.
My only purchase: a Disston T-bevel angle finder in excellent condition for $25.
