Well we did a “true family” project for my sister’s scrap book wall unit. My mom wanted to build this for her. She wanted inset drawers, what a pain, with no drawer glides. Well, if I built it by myself it probably would have been different. Grandma built the actual cabinet portions with some small instruction, my wife built the inset drawers. The project came together fine but could have been a little better. There is no real room for error on those inset drawers but Grandma sure had fun woodworking!
So now that it is done, some of the drawers pull out nice and others are a little sticky. I have read before somewhere that some sort of something can be applied to allow the drawers to slide better. Maybe vaseline? You all should know that both the drawers and the inside of the cabinet they slide into are painted with an oil white finish. This is all how my sister wanted it. It was a major pain and only something I would do for family. So what do I use to grease these suckers down with to make them glide nicer. What about Astro glide? I think we have some of that around the house…
