I just installed my filter and want to get some back up filters, but can’t find any info on why or what the charcoal filter is for. Or should I just spend the coin and get the washable filter. Last but not least are there after market filter that are as good or better for less? I have found cheaper but no specs our if there any good.

Any help would be appreciated .

Thank you

These work as the first stage.

Just buy the washable filter. When I owned that air filter that’s what I did and never had to replace it. When you do wash it you have to let it dry completely before using the filter again. You could buy another washable for backup if you’d like but what I did when I washed the filter was use the OEM paper filter that came with the unit until the washable filter dried. The charcoal filter are supposed to scrub the air of odors so I’m guessing that they’re not really for woodworking applications.

I bought a 2 pack of disposable pleated filters at Lowes for $19
I never tried the washable filter
