Wade, that is a nice looking book case. If it is one piece, I am really happy that I don’t have to help you move it into its permanent home. :)

I am always afraid I am going to mess up the finishing, my least favorite part of wood working.
Looking for any suggestions on the best way to finish.

The kitchen Island that you can see from the great room where this book case will be is a flat black with an antique look, so maybe match it.
Also the great room has a vaulted ceiling with 100 year old barn lumber beams which are the grey look of old lumber, so maybe match that or finish like the rest of the kitchen cabinets which are dark cherry.

Clean, simple, and classical look. I like the design.
I’m in the cherry camp. Wouldn’t paint all that great work.
