I am in the market to purchase some sanding equipment for the shop and I wanted to know if anyone here has had experience with the following:

Laguna SS 14 Spindle Sander – $499

Laguna DB 12 6 Combo – $999

The two closet competitors from Jet are the JBOS-5 ($489) and JSG-6CS ($1499)

The laguna options looks like a good value (spindle sander has a stand and 3” spindle included) and the Combo unit is much cheaper.

I know Laguna has a spotty customer service track record, but was curious is anyone has used or come across these units to see how they may compare. I have used both the Jet products in the past and were good.

Thanks in advance!

Don’t buy that type of sander. Get an edge sander. You will be much happier in the long run.

Appreciate the feedback. I actually do use a spindle sander quite a bit. Many of the edge sander just take up too much room for the space I have available but I will look into those options as well.

Have your say...
