I saw a Ryobi spindle sander on CL for a good price. It’s the same one with the egg shaped table that has been sold under so many other manufacturer’s names (HF, Grizzly, Triton, etc.) In the ad he says it occasionally makes a loud screeching noise, and though he’s seen a fix for it, he just hasn’t done it. I looked and can’t find anything about them making a particular noise so I thought I’d ask here if anyone has one of these, is that a problem you’ve had and how did you fix it? Also, it’s missing a spindle, but I’m figuring I can get a replacement from someone like Grizzly and it’ll fit? Thanks.

It’s probably a worn belt that occasionally slips. Look at this guy’s video and he shows you how to disassemble it.
