Topic tags/keywords: mobile bases

I just ordered Grizzly 0513 bandsaw and I will need to put a mobile base under it. I seen there are 2 HTC reviews but nothing else. Any others out there? Where’s the cheapest place to get them from? Thanks

HF sells some they work but not as well as the metal ones. My band saw was way to short so I had to make a box to put it on and then put the box on a mobile base.

This is one Post on here about Mobile Bases. http://lumberjocks.com/reviews/1480

There are 3 others I believe that you can follow from there.

I bought one from Lowes for $80. Suits me just fine. Some of the Reviews show less expensive but basically the same type of base.

Hope this is of some help.

I have a Shop Fox that worked great till the wheels started falling apart. It is the super duper heavy duty one that was suppose to hold something like 1300 lbs. It holds my table saw which doesn’t even come close to that amount. It’s still usable and eventually I’m going to replace the wheels. BTW – I also had the same problems with Rockler wheels. First the rubber started peeling off one wheel then eventually the others. Would I buy it again – probably, however, I’d have another set of wheels just in case.

Frankly, I have my grizzley 555 extreme on a movers dolly I bought at HF. Wrks just fine however I only pull it out and move it back about 3-4 ft. I had it on a WC metal dolly and really didn’t think much of it. In fact it’s for sale. That metal one didn’t work very good for my ridgid jointer either.

Howie I thought about your idea, either build it or buy it, just thought I would see what was working for everyone else. I also need to see how high the table is and see if raising it will be a problem.

I have my HF 32208 14” band saw on the HF universal mobile base. The lumber size is funny (1.25” sq) so you need to rip 2×4s VERY carefully to make it work… But once set up, they work really nice. Weight rating is FAR above what your band saw weighs…

Did you get the white one or the older style green one?

dbhost I bought the white one. It was a heck of a deal. Probably more saw then I require but for the difference between it and the 0555 I figured what the heck. At least I have room to grow as someone said.

Have your say...
