Saw this on the www.woodworkingonline. site. Somewhat of a gimmick, but I thought it would be cool anyhow. Some of the options are:

~pick accessories
~color
~your name of nameplate
~and a few other minor choices.

The additions are really expensive though. Custom Paint is a few hundred.

I wouldn’t consider a Baldor motor and a steel extension table a gimmick, but who cares about the color and knobs? And personalized? Whose shop is it in?

Yeahm gimmick isn’t quite the right word for some of the options. Color, nameplate, . . . like you said, who cares! If someone comes to my garage workshop and needs a nameplate to know it’s mine, there are bigger problems at hand!

I like the saw, but I can get along without the frills.

saws are about function… I take my equipment based on performance not color and style. If customizing makes it work better.. I am all for it. I do have to admit though that I may have a hard time buying a saw that is painted pink with yellow polka dots….. I also can’t see me getting a red saw since it would mask the blood loss from when I cut myself… just kidding.

I was in Columbus and stopped in to see these saws for the heck of it. The store is a woodworkers dream. More cool woodworking stuff than you can shake a stick at, but I repeat what I said about having a custom painted saw. If you are that concerned that your saw is that pretty, chances are you are more interested in appearances than woodworking. Sure is a lot of money for a piece of equipment… They had a green one, a red one, and even one with a flames painted on it. Whatever floats your boat.

That is such a cool app! Way too expensive for me, but very cool!
I wonder… If I make it Grizzly Green, will the price come down? :-)
