Topic tags/keywords: jointer First time posting but I have been reading posts for a while. I will be looking at this used jointer tomorrow evening. The seller says in great shape and is asking $350. I see that it is selling for $919 new on Amazon. Would this be a good price? Thank you in advance. |

If it is truly in great shape as claimed, yes, this is a good deal in my view. Those Jet’s really purr nicely and have very little vibration when they run. Be sure that this one runs smoothly as it should. Bring a good straight edge and check to be sure that the beds and fence are dead flat, and that the fence can be squared evenly from infeed to outfeed. -- PaulMayer, http://www.vernswoodgoods.com |

Depends on your idea of a ‘good deal’. My limit is about $100 for a jointer – yours may be different. If one doesn’t come in at or under my limit, I’ll keep waiting for one that does (and one always does eventually). For the one in question – I’d maybe go $75, and probably not even that high – but that’s me… I generally stay away from the asian clones and would rather wait for a nice vintage US made machine to pop up. Why buy a copy when you can have the original :) Cheers, -- Brad in FL - In Dog I trust... everything else is questionable |

That’s a great deal! Congrats on an awesome jointer. You’re going to love that machine. I had an older version of this and it was one of the sweetest running tools I’ve ever owned. -- PaulMayer, http://www.vernswoodgoods.com |
