I have some free lumber I would like to give to someone who will use it.
In August 2008 my son and I demolished an old barn. The owner estimated the barn had been built in the 1880’s. The roof was tin nailed to 1×6’s. I saved some of the 1×6’s and some nice 2×4’s. (These are ‘real’ 2×4’s that measure a full 2 inches thick and 4 inches wide.) The owner kept all of the original siding that was any good. The siding was redwood.
I think the wood I kept is just Douglas Fir. I pulled out all the nails that I could see in the lumber. There is about 160 lineal feet of 2×4. And there is about 150 lineal feet of 1×6. I also have about 80 feet of used oak baseboard that I saved from a remodel job earlier this year.
I was planning on using the lumber myself, but my wife and I are now moving. I cannot move the lumber with me. Therefore, I would like to give it to someone who will put it to use.
I do not know the correct protocol for contacting people personally on this website. I will check back tomorrow night to find out if there is any interest and decide at that point how to make contact.
I live near Stockton, California. This is not a joke.
