I have a ranch house that has a main hall way that is pretty long and was thinking of dressing this up with a shadow box built in the wall. Has anyone done this and what are your opinions? Does anyone have any photos? Now the wall I am thinking about is basically a side wall. I can’t put it at the end of the hall because 2 bedrooms branch off this wall. Any thoughts???? Thanks in advance.

Go for it! If you think it will work I’d say give it a shot.

I am not quite sure what you mean by shadow box. Closed, open, lighted, built in or hung on the wall? If you go to my projects and look at Utilizing Dead Space In Stair Case. I did a lighted what-not shelf and it might be something you are thinking about but on a bigger scale. Have fun!
