Hello, could you please tell me the suggested approach to milling 2×6 cedar stock down to size before building a door?

Would want to use the joiner on two sides (one flat side and one edge) and then the planer on the opposite sides to square it up?

Thank you.

Your milling approach is fine I just wonder about cedar as a door material.

Don’t say that! I spent $150 on that wood! My wife will kill me if I don’t use it.

It’s for a screen door. What is your concern?

I think you will be alright for a screen door it’s just that cedar is soft compared to other woods you could use.
$150 seems like a lot for enough wood for a screen door.

Here’s how I buy wood:

Think up a design.
Go to home depot and hang out in the lumber isle for an hour, changing my design according to what I see.
Pull all the wood that I want.
Change my mind.
Put that wood back and pull the new stuff + more than enough extra, just in case.
Bring it home and let it sit for one month.
Change my mind again and go to a local lumber yard and buy more than what I need of my latest fancy. Choke and cough as I hand over my credit card. Hopefully I’ll eventually find a cheaper source.

Then, on the way home, I forget that I’ve got 10’ lumber resting on my front dash, as I stop quickly in traffic, producing an 11 point, 8” star pattern on my windshield.

Wow
The windshield thing is really costly, If it’s a simple screen door you could build it with about four 8 ft pieces of cedar decking and even that should be to much.
