I’m curious because there’s a display tool at a nearby HD that’s on clearance for about half price. Problem is, it doesn’t have all the parts. Being a Ridgid, and therefore HD’s house brand I wondered if I were to buy it would I be SOL as far as the missing parts, or would Ridgid be willing to replace them as part of the LSA? Kind of a naive hope I know, but I thought I’d ask if anyone’s done it.

Usually sold as is based on my experiences and replacements for “missing” parts not covered.

What is the tool? Easy to search the parts at Ridgid.com

Depending on the toll and what parts are needed you could get a good deal.

And yes, I’ve bought a few, got the floor model TS3612 and it needed a few items, managed to sweet talk the tool manager into pulling a fence and rail set from the new (then) 3650 and giving me those, then ordered the belt, belt cover and tilt lock bolt, all in at $350 Got several others when the tools went orange but they were NIB at 50% off. Most any & all parts I’ve needed I’ve been able to source.

-- I've decided 1 mistake is really 2 opportunities to learn.. learn how to fix it... and learn how to not repeat it

It’s the Ridgid oscillating belt/spindle sander. There’s a display one on clearance for $99.50. Great price except that it’s out of the box so all of the spindles, throat inserts, and whatever other loose parts there would be aren’t there. I’ve looked, and it’s in the neighborhood of $50 to get everything that’s missing so I figure what would be the point of that? For anther $50 I could buy a new one except that SWMBO chokes at the $200 price tag. I’ve tried to find one locally through the usual sources (craigslist, offerup, etc.) but all of the ones listed around here you can tell are from customer return bulk pallets people have bought, and I’d just as soon not buy one that was returned because of problems.

I’ll just keep an eye out for a used one being sold by someone that actually used it, or a different model. Thanks.
