I’m finally moving into my new shop and have a great opportunity to upgrade a few things during this process, miter station being one of them. I was just curious about your miter stations, specifically your stops. I don’t want to use t-tracks because I cut a lot of long boards and the t-tracks would cost too much. So if your able can you post pictures of yours or just a description would be ok.

Thanks

Tabletop, I don’t have any pics but I made some homemade t-track for my miter saw station. I used a t-track router bit but you can do the same thing by laminating some plywood.

Great idea with the plywood. 1/2”,1/4” two strips topped with two strips of 1/2”? Does that sound about right? Thanks Hokie!

Mine is mounted on a cabinet. Then 4’ of cabinets on either side. The side cabinet tops are even with the saw bed. They are deep enough that I was able to mount an aluminum angle fence on either side.
For a stop I built one from BB that straddled the fence. The stop is 1 1/2” thick on the face side. I used a threaded insert and a bolt with a knob to tighten it on the fence.

That would work. I was thinking a dado in 3/4 ply to fit the bolt head the a couple of pieces of 1/2 on top. Same result either way though. It will probably be fine with 1/4” on top if you wanted to go that route. Let us know how it goes!
