Hello everyone!

With the entire master bathroom ripped out down to the framing, I am looking at needing to build a new recessed medicine cabinet. Does anyone have any favorite sites that you can reccomend to me for plans?

Best.

How intricate of a chest do you want to make. I just went through a bathroom renno and did not make the medicine cabinets (Jenn bought then instead) but they should not be too difficult to make. The biggest obstacle I saw was getting nice mirrors in my price range LOL!

It really depends on the style. Norm made an Arts & Crafts medicine cabinet at NewYankee.com. Medicine cabinets are actually pretty simple and straightforward. You could probably design your own. Also, do you want one that attaches to the wall, or one that’s mounted between studs and sits flush. I guess since you’re down to the framing, you do the flush style. Yeah, don’t forget about the mirror. If you go beveled, try to buy a stock size and design the door around it. If you start with the design, a custom beveled mirror will be expensive.

I’m going to play devils advocate. Why do you need a medicine cab in the bathroom? Usually medications need to be stored in a cool and dry environment, both of which a bathroom is not. We have opted for just a mirror on the wall without the med cab and store our medications in a closet in the bedroom, where it is cool and dark.
