Topic tags/keywords: visit wayne I am just posting a notice to ALL LJs to let you know that I will be in Canada and the USA between January 8th and 21st 2008. I will be in Whistler (BC) between the 8th and 15th, Vancouver 16th, then in San-Francisco 17th to 21st . At the moment I plan to be in Sacramento on the 18th and/or 19th , where I will be visiting with Wayne ( http://lumberjocks.com/jocks/WayneC ). If any LJs are in the Vicinity of these places and would like to hook up for a meeting, just drop a message in this forum. Wayne has graciously offered to “run me around “during my visit, but I think a visit to NY or Albuquerque would be a little too far!!!!! Wishing all a Happy New Year 2008 – Hoping to see some of you soon – TONY -- Tony - All things are possible, just some things are more difficult than others! - SKYPE: Heron2005 (http://www.poydatjatuolit.fi) |

I’m planning to drive down and take Tony for a tour (woodcraft, rockler, other suggestions). Would anyone be intersted in getting together? Perhaps we could stage a Northern CA winter picnic. -- We must guard our enthusiasm as we would our life - James Krenov |

Will you guys be going from SAC to SF at all??? I will actually be home in Napa for a 3-day weekend (MLK day) AND the family will be GONE…i could definitely do a day of WINE TASTING IN THE BEAUTIFUL WORLD FAMOUS WINE COUNTRY… Coming to see me for my shop—and my skills…forget it…but consider a day or partial day to see Napa/Sonoma… Let me know and I will send you my numbers!!! I AM NOT 100%——but my wife is planning on taking the kids to Chico for the weekend…so I will have time to tour you around…or meet you guys in SF??? I only have one day (despite the holiday) since I will have tons of papers to grade… Let me know!!! matt -- Matt, Napa, CA...119 days to sanity... |

I would be interested in getting together… I like the Northern CA Winter Picnic idea. The further South of San Francisco the better for me, otherwise the drive might be too much. I have Fridays and Saturdays off but could probably get any other day off if I trade with a co-worker. One suggestion: Woodcraft store in San Carlos (this is the one I visit). -- Check out my new website! http://www.theeasellife.com |

I think the itinarary is open I know that Obi is up for a visit as well. I think Tony has a couple of days to play around and I’m also not sure that the Sac visit is mandatory. My shop is in a non-working messy state at the moment. Looks like an itenerary is starting to come to gether. -- We must guard our enthusiasm as we would our life - James Krenov |

is the goal to get around to see and shop in our woodworking stores (which I am all for) or is the goal to see SF/SAC/Bay area (which I am all for) or ??? Cant wait…again—-I am in for sure if we can get together on Saturday…will travel… Only asking the first question so that the bay area guys can be thinking of places to go…TONY—-what do you want to do/see? If you have never been to SF…it is a great city…but running around may not be your goal—-or maybe that will be exactly what you want to do at that point of your trip… Ok,...I am very flexible…look forward to meeting all of you if it all works out!! Hello LJs This is my 1st real visit to the US, but it is only a short visit. So my primary goal is; I would like to meet some of my fellow LJs and to visit some of the stores I buy from on-line. If I had more time, I would like to spend some time in all of the LJs workshops, just experience how each of you work and get around the day to day problems associated with small work areas. The internet is great, but no substitute for 1st hand experience. Whatever eventually happens it will be an experience that I will never forget – I also need to purchase some hardware for some projects I am working on (no shipping or Tax to pay). -- Tony - All things are possible, just some things are more difficult than others! - SKYPE: Heron2005 (http://www.poydatjatuolit.fi) |

Shoot, I’ll be down in southern California that weekend. Have a great visit to the Bay Area and a great trip overall Tony! If there is time, you should visit Muir Woods in the Marin Headlands, the coast sequious will BLOW your mind!

I wood like to tag along, let me know what day and where. There is a woodcrafter store in Dublin that may be in the middle of everyone. Big Trees National Park would be interesting, they have a tree stump over 20 to 30 feet across and a picture of the guys that cut it down. They cut it down to see how old it was, it was old. Santa Cruz area, has many beautiful trees. I offer my place as a meeting place, 5 acres and plenty of parking space, 2 hours from Sac., S.F. Santa Cruz (2.5). I’m 1.5 hours from Yosemite, everyone is welcome. -- Ron Central, CA |

Then perhaps head over to See Obi and Bill in the Modesto Area in the afternoon. Please send me your contact info if your able to meet. Also, we should deciide on which Woodcraft to meet at. Time is getting close and I am working out details. There is a lot to do in a single day, so I’ve gotten time off from work for Friday (Tomorrow). I belive Tony has Friday, Saturday and Sunday to visit. I know that Matt, Blake, Obi, and RAH are interested. Anyone else interested in Joining in? I’m thinking the Dublin Woodcraft would be a good place to meet. Thinking of Saturday for the Woodcraft meeting. Also thinking of a day trip on Friday to Obi’s or Blake’s if available.
