We were honored by my grandson, Ryan Casteel, being drafted Tuesday by the Colorado Rockies. He officially signed yesterday and will be leaving soon for Casper, WY to start with their rookie league, the Casper Ghosts. Cute name, huh. He has dreamed of playing pro ball since he was in the local diaper league. Thank you for listening to a proud grandfather.

Congratulations to grandson! If I knew how much fun and sheer delight grandchildren were,I’d just skip the kids and go straight for the grandkids!

It is great to see that he is able to take the sport to this level. I had the distinct pleasure of working with both my sons until they were 18. Either had the ability to play baseball at some level in college but, by that time, had lost interest in the sport. I think that girls had something to do with this. :) I am sure you are a proud grandfather and have enjoyed following your grandson’s career so far.

Thanks for all the kind words. Thanks for letting me share. I’ll not bore you in the future but I’ll be following the team through their website. Have a good one!

Congratulations!!! I am a BIG baseball fan. In addition to following my beloved Tigers, I also attend many local minor league games (we have season tickets). I’m always impressed with how hard these kids work to make it. I wish your grandson the best. If he makes it to the majors – GREAT! If he does not, I hope he still enjoys the experience.
