I am currently finishing a basement. I installed all the hardware for a pocket door. My problem is the door size, it is 36W x 74H. I want to finish it off nicely and was thinking of cutting down a pre-manufacted 6 panel or luan door. I can not fine a shop who will manufacture this. I can remember going to the local lumber yard and they would do it or get a local to do it and have it back in a week. So Lumberjocks where do I go? I’m in the Staten Island,NY/central NJ area. I’m not talking mohogony or maple, maybe pine, it will be painted. I have a router, table saw and a couple of other tools, but this might be to much for me to take on.

Tks Tom

Welcome to Ljs Tom
You can cut this down your self by using a straight edge, a circular saw, some tape and a strip of wood to fill the inside of the door after sawing off the excess..

I have cut the bottum of 2 doors 1st I make a mark with a utility knife where I want to cut using a straight edge with the same straight edge I used a router with a straight bit and took many cuts “don’t try to cut with only one cut” it make a real clean cut.
