I have a 16HD bandsaw from 2004. Got it for a good deal a couple years ago. Been using it quite a bit for resawing, cutting tenons and general ripping. Last week the carbide tipped blade broke while i was resawing 8” deep material. No warning. Great safety btw. Shut down on its own. The lower ceramic thrust bearing was broken. May have been that way for some time. The blade is done. There was evidence of broken blades getting wrapped around the frame prior. Ordered new thrust ceramics. I don’t see how they are replaced. They are inserted into a blind cylinder. Can’t press from behind. Can’t pull from the front because it is broken. Heated up to 500 F expecting it to fall out. Also tapped the back of the cylinder. Wondering if I need to break it up to remove. If so, how would the new one go in? Thanks.
