I am just now setting up my WS and will be building a new workbench. I was originally thinking of following plans that placed the MB in the center of the bench with 4’ of Kreg Precision Trak&Stop on either side:

Then I noticed ND2ELK’s bench with the entire Kreg T&S along just one side for an 8’ fence with the MB at one end (also looks like it is set up for the drill press on the other end):

What are the Pros/Cons of each setup? Since the new workbench is still in the planning stage any advice would be much appreciated. FYI, I have room for an 8’ bench right of MB with at least +10’ free space to the left (TS will set to left and could serve as outfeed).

Hey Mike welcome to Ljs
The advantage of having a long fence with the kreg system Like Tom and I have are the ease of making repetitive cuts and measuring with out a hand held tape. With 4’ kreg system is that limits you to just short cuts.

I set my miter saw in the middle of two workbenches and have the capability of cutting in either direction to 8’. Gives me the flexibility of cutting on both sides of the saw and not worrying about length. Works great.

Have your say...
