Can anyone give me some info on this plane I picked up at a yard sale? Looks to be a dado plane, what with the double nicker. But I only see pics of them with a depth stop of sorts, which this plane has no evidence of. It also is inset on both sides, where I’ve only seen dado planes that are flush on one side? Any light that can be shed will be much appreciated.

Looks like that’s your fixed depth stop, is that about a 1/2” on the one side? Can you see any evidence of a maker’s mark other than that decoration?

Okay, that makes sense. Looks like it’s dedicated as a 5/16” wide by 3/8” deep dado. Seems on oddball size, but I’ll take it. I’m sure I’ll find a use for it. No makers mark, as far as I can tell.
