Topic tags/keywords: draft save lost post

I would really appreciate it if the AutoSave or Draft saving feature could be added to the Private Messages. I’ll be in the middle of a PM and need to check another tab or site for pertinent information, when I get back to the PM…it’s gone :-(
I know I can ‘copy and paste’ to a note or some other place on the computer. That usually happens AFTER I lose the first draft. Usually.
Is this too much to ask? Anyone else have this happen?

I use windows 10 . it should be possible to open a number of separate Tabs at the same time and switch from one to another. eg I open Lumberjocks ect via google, click new projects ect, if I need to deviate to another source of info leave you page as it is and click on your google icon again and open a second or third new tab screen and search ect. you can then copy and paste between them. You can reduce your page sizes and have multi screens visible all at once. Good Luck Bazza

Candy, what I will do after so many times of losing what I typed, is copy it before I leave that tab. If when I come back to the original tab, what I typed is gone, I will paste it back. No need to paste it to an intermediate spot. When you copy something, it stays copied until you copy something else. Days later you could paste it again.

It may just happen on the iPad, Bazza and Bill. Not sure. I have done the copy and paste thing and gotten something else that I’ve copied previously (I think, it’s possible I am just computer illiterate). I do know it is frustrating. Maybe God is telling me to not be so long winded?

Hi Candy. I just open another tab to look up something , copy what I want and then click back to LJ and post it in the note I started.
i would have the same problem if I did clicked on another site when in LJ’s. I don’t think they have a draft for any of the screens.

cheers, Jim

LJ does the same to me on Win 7, but not all the time.
Open a second tab find info go back to nuffin! open LJs again log in and continue…. I hear you!

Also while the IT geeks are busy doing Web site work

A problem seems to exist with pictures as well, I see a lot of good projects lacking the correct presentation due to them being posted sideways.
I live in Australia and my posts never appear upsidedown, so its not a geographic problem.

I see Bambi was subjected to it with just recently with the bandsaw box post

The sideways picture is usually an issue due to taking a picture with a phone or iPad. With a phone, the shutter button needs to be on the right side when you snap, otherwise the picture will post sideways.

I’ve never had this happen in Win 7,8, or 10, but it does happen on Windows 8.1 mobile. I can test it on iPad but that thing will probably crash.

Does your iPad constantly say there was a problem and it had to be reloaded? If so, which iPad. I’m wanting a new iPad to fix the issue, but maybe it won’t.

Our ipad is first gen, it’s not good for much. The only thing that still works is the browser and that crashes every 2 minutes, no message, just closes.

I suspect Candy’s issue is lack of memory/cache and will probably happen on a lot of mobile devices.

Bill, I get that message. But, I think, it’s usually on my new iPhone 6?
Rick, the iPad says it has 5.3 GB ‘available’. Is that referring to memory/cache? If so, is that lacking?
