Which coupon do you want?

Check their website, www.harborfreightusa.com and click the “See Our Current Ad” button, they sometimes send out coupons in the circulars and those get posted there.

Check the woodworking magazines like Wood Magazine, Fine Woodworking etc… The current issue of Wood Magazine has the 20% off any single item coupon…

There are some good ones including the 20% off coupons on the back page of the current issue of American woodworker.

Register with HF and they will also send you sales coupons.
20%s are in most of the woodworking magazines
and the motorcycle and car ones too.

Last Saturday (9/11) I went to Home Depot and purchased a Ridgid r4510 with a Harbor Frieght coupon. Bought a Family Handyman…went out to the truck and tore the coupon out…went back into the store and bought the saw.

Today, the wife and were a different Home Depot and I was looking at impact drivers. When I inquired about using a Harbor Frieght coupon…the cashier was going to give me the run around. Ended up at the Home Deopt where I bought my saw…purchased a new edition of Family Handyman…went outside and tore out the coupon…had my son stay outside with the magaizine…went back inside yanked the Milwaukee M12 Impact Driver off the shelf…and the cashiier processed me right through…no questions asked.

The son wants to buy a bench grinder….hummm…I wonder what we will do??? LOL!

Love those Harbor Frieght 20% coupons.

Good deal. Next time see if you can catch the same cashier. You might be surprised.
I never tried to use a HF coupon at the HD in my neighborhood. I’ll ask next time when I go.

I know that, generally speaking, reviving old threads can be frowned upon. But I stumbled upon this site while researching suitable replacements for my old Porter Cable 12V drill that finally died after 13 good years of service and this thread caught my eye, and ended up saving me a nice chunk of change. I didn’t know HD honored competitors’ coupons, but I did have a current Family Handyman laying around.

And I was able to bring home a new Milwaukee M12 Red Lithium Combo with and their new 3/8” Hammer Drill Driver and the 1/4” Hex Impact Driver. Everyone’s selling it for 200 bucks right now and it looks like a good deal at that price. But at $160 using HF’s 20% coupon, it’s a no-brainer. No run-around from the cashier at all. She just scanned everything and took off the 20%.

I’ll definitely keep that little gem of info filed away for future use, so thanks, handystanley!

I did know that you could use Lowe’s Coupons at Home Depot, but was unaware about Harbor Freights being usable there. Think they would work at Lowes? I wonder how Sears works with all of this too…

I was planning to use one of the HF coupons at HD recently, so I called the corporate customer service # to find out what their official policy was. I was told that they do accept competitor coupons but that it is ultimately up to the store manager’s discretion whether they take them. I used the coupons twice over the last year or so – once for a snowblower and once for a ladder. The first time was no problem – the second time, I got a little grief (but they did end up allowing it). Long story short, don’t be afraid to challenge them on it if they give you a hard time..

PS – if you have a HF in your area, they generally have the flyers in store that have the 20% coupons..

Ben, my Lowe’s took the HF coupon last summer; I got $40 off a Porter-Cable floor drill press. And my local non-chain hardware store, called Jerry’s, will take every competitor’s coupons. Guess what I used when I got my DeWalt Planer last October…! Even the cashier was impressed.

@HokieMojo: I have a HD to the north of me that shuns HF coupons; yet, the one to the south of me will. @Eliizabeth: YES!!!
