New plane and my first high quality one. I just wanted a real good all around block plane. This Lie-Neilsen got great reviews, so I bit the bullet. It cuts the wood like “butta”. hahaha Love it! Ugh. Pics got cut off, but you get the idea.

Nice plane but the title should’ve been “da plane boss da plane” if I remember correctly haha.

That sure is sweet. It looks even better there than in the catalog. There is a LN low angle jack plane in a box somewhere in my house, unopened. I know its here because the tracking email came to my email. My wife intercepted it. She’s making me wait until my actual birthday next week….

I have that plane and love it. It is great for all kinds of shop work. Mine is not that shiny anymore and well used. You picked a good one.

Out of all the planes I have and use with joy and ease that are over 100 years old, I couldn’t seem to dial in a block plane to my satisfaction. So I purchased one “high quality” as well. I don’t regret it. I grabbed the Veritas skew and it can do rabbets with the fence but I did look at that LN one too. Congrats, I use my new block plane constantly and know you will too.

Block planes are generally under appreciated.

I received a LN rabbet block for Christmas. Love it.
