I have a larger Delta belt/disc sander unit in my newly setup small shop. I do not have a dust collection setup due to space and power limitations but I do have a large window exhaust fan/louver setup which helps.

Is there a dust bag I could put on the outlet of the sander to catch some of of the fine dust coming off the sander?

This is a small hobby shop and the sander won’t get used much so I’m not bothered by emptying the bag out frequently.

tealetm,

Three options to look at might be a replacement bag for wall mounted dust collector, a replacement bag for a turf vacuum cleaner, or a shop vac.

The issue with the dust collector or turf vacuum replacement bag is moving dust from the sander into the bag. If the sander has some air flow directing dust to a dust collection port, a means that keeps the bag inflated or mechanically held open would probably be needed.

If going with a shop vac, adding a cyclone separator to the shop vac could keep the vac filter clean longer.

Have your say...
