Harbor Freight has a 1/3 HP, 100 psi compressor on sale with coupon at a HF store for $39.99. Is it worth it? Anyone have one? Thanks.

I have a few things I buy from HF but I don’t know if I would try a compressor

I used a 3.5hp 25 gallon upright HF compressor for 3 or 4 years with no troubles. They have them for $199.00 and you can use a 20% off coupon.

One of my boys has it now and it’s still working fine.

I wonder how anything could be much good at 39.00. During the holidays I have purchased husky promo compressors for 39.00 or 49.00 and faired ok but at what degree of sacrifice is a company making to put out such a product for 40.00.

For the record, neither of my 40.00 compressors turned out to be good. But one of the deals ended up coming with a husky 23g pinner that I use all of the time with no issues.

I do think you tend to get what you pay for. I often look for budget deals but CL seems to be the go to place for great budget deals. Also can search in order to search a parameter of up to 250 mile radius if you need something really bad.

I guess you never know. Jerry

I bought one of the small oil less compressors a couple of years ago “on sale” from HF, It was LOUD and it failed 2 days after the war. ran out. I took it back to HF, and they said that If I bought an extended war. for 5 bucks, they would give another. It died within 5 months, so back to HF. They were out of stock, but had a larger one on sale, and I was able to get the full list price credit applied to the purchase of the larger unit. I went for the 2 hp, and a lot quieter but with oil, and the additional cost was about 25 bucks, with 10 more for a 2 year extended war. It is starting to fail now, but I hope that the same thing happens, and even though the 2 hp handles all my brad nailers, I have added impact and air ratchets to the shop.

Good luck
