Hi all, I have a 19th century lathe I’m trying to get running. I’m missing the four step flat belt pulley. I figured I’d turn one out of Baltic birch plywood or solid oak or maple. I’m planning on mounting the pulley on the end of a counter shaft.
My question is, how do I attach a 5” wide pulley to the shaft? I researched it but the only thing I found were folks glueing it on. Is there some sort of bushing or insert I can use? What about the screw that locks the pulley on the shaft?
-- If the tool was invented after the Depression, I don't need it.
