This might be normal, but it’s odd to me. I have a mockingbird near my house, and he sings at all hours. I was up at 3:30 Am today, and he was chirping his head off. I hear him every night when I get home from work at 12:30 AM.

Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s cool. All is dead quiet, except for him. Not even an occasional “SHUT UP” from the other birds.

I’ve lived in this house 12 years, and have just noticed this.

I’m glad he chose this place.

We’ve noticed the same thing just this year with a bird. Don’t know what kind. Kind of funny getting up in the middle of the night to go potty and hearing it. Doesn’t bother me either….......... yet.

Boy, I dont know…I have a couple of cardinals here that start chirping at about 4 to 4:30 am every morning.
They have that chirp where they do a loud whoop, then chirp chirp chirp. Drives me nuts…need to get the
shotgun out…:-) No, not really…does interupt my sleep every morning though.

If only I had your problem… I have started singing the bird blues once again… it happens every summer. For some reason crows like to live around me. I go outside at 6:00 in the morning with my coffee and I no sooner sit down and it starts. Non-stop. They’re in the top of my next-door-neighbor’s tree… WAY up there. On some mornings, depending on how I’m feeling, it’s enough to drive me into the house. So when you’re listening to the “chirp-chirping” around your place, think of me.

Mockingbirds crack me up… There’s one on my way to work every morning. It sounds like a whole flock of different birds in a tree, but it’s only him. I’ve even heard him cluck like a chicken. Where he heard one of them in the city is anybody’s guess…
Have you heard one of them imitate a ringing cell phone yet? They do that too… crazy birds… :)

We had one where we used to live.
It actually could call one of our cats name.
The bird would sit on the fence and call “Coby” (co-bee)
over and over.
The cat was less than thrilled…
