Greetings all,
I know why I’m on the computer and not in my shop…. I’ve been nursing a bad back for the last few days.
It helps to sit up in a straight-back chair. I know why Roger Clark is on here… he’s nursing a bad ankle.
So what about the rest of you…... What are you nursing besides a cold one? Come on, fess up…
Inquiring minds want to know…..!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry to hear that you are laid up Rick.

I just finished the design for a new planer cart and have to go to Lowes to buy a few things for it. Hate going there, but——it’s only about 3 miles.

OK Nosy Parker, if you really must know. Today we have a 30mph cold ass wind coming in the garage door. My shop is too small to work in with out the door being up and since I only wear a thong in the summer time, I can’t take the cold. So there, now you know! lol Beautiful sight, huh? All 6’4” 300lbs in a chartreuse thong. I’m just so lovely in the morning breeze. I wonder if Grizz would like one? They are on sale right now.

Now that I have your attention, I am in the shop. I just made a Lazy Susan to utilize for routing circular dado’s and cutting circles from plywood to copy Wood57’s R2D2 Ridgid vacuum setup. I need to use the vacuum to suck up a ton of sand that the wind has blown into the shop over the last 3 weeks. It looks like I’ve been sawing adobe bricks instead of wood in here.

I’m in the house at the moment to wash out the sand and sawdust in my thong. It is beginning to chaff a bit.

Have a great holiday weekend all you LJer’s out there.

Rick, I’m sorry that you and Roger are not enjoying this weekend. I’m having a good day right now and my heart goes out to you guys and this constant pain problem. When mine acts up, I always think of my fellow LJer’s going through the same thing. I hope things clear up for you to have some time in the shop. Rand

Had my tonsils removed yestarday morning so I am stuck on here with you guys ;) I did get to go to the book store today and get myself a nice book on routers though!
Taunton’s Complete Illustrated Guide to Routers

I just bought a Hitachi fixed base router the other week and I am going to build myself a router table when I am well enough and have the time. Can’t wait to get back into the shop….

I’m putting the finishing touches on my Sunday School lesson, checking a couple of websites in between spurts of inspiration. SWMBO and I went to our grandson’s 4th birthday party, went grocery shopping, out to eat and more shopping. While I’m jumping between two things, she’s getting a couple of things ready for the church picnic tomorrow afternoon. I’ll be glad when she goes back to work Tuesday so I can get into the shop and rest!

Because I have already logged 60+ hours this week.

You only think you want that much shop time.

I am SO glad I AM on the computer. Otherwise I would have missed this post and lilredweldingrod’s HILARIOUS comments: ...and since I only wear a thong in the summer time, I can’t take the cold. Beautiful sight huh? All 6’4” 300 lbs in a chartreuse thong. Too funny lilredweldingrod. I actually laughed out loud. I wonder how many jocks are heading to the dictionary to look up “chartreuse”?

hey Rick :) stuck in doing homework since it’s the dead run to the end of the quarter. Itching to get back to my entertainment center but have a plane blade to sharpen before that can happen…so it keeps me in check and the homework done ;) Gotta keep an eye on us slackers, right? ;) Take care everybody and have a great holiday weekend for those that get a holiday – thanks to all our veterans and active service men and women!

Hey guys (and gals),
Just got back on a little while ago. I had to stop around 2:00, take a muscle relaxer, then get a nap to try to
ease up the ole’ spine….. The wife came in, woke me up, and she brought a pizza home for supper…..
Sure glad I didn’t have to cook tonight…. lol. I was surprized when I got on here, and had 14 emails from all
you folks… I wanted to do something this weekend, but no go….Oh well… I got all the time I need. I’m in
no hurry…. I got in a hurry once, and it like to have got me killed, so now I take it nice and slow…..

Greetings Becky,
I don’t believe I’ve seen you(well..actually heard you) on here before…. Sounds like you’re a college student who loves to work the wood. That’s great. What kind of things do you like to make, and do you have a shop and tools or machines…. We have several young artisans on Ljs. Some a lot smarter than me. Thanks for the reply, and try not to study too hard…. I know what that’s like, since I graduated from college many many years ago…...
