Hello all, I just returned from lowes and I gave the NEW hitachi lazer saw a look over and I was less than impressed. I have recommended the c12rsh to anyone that was in need of a 12 inch sliding miter saw. The new saw is not even comparable to the model it replaced. The slide on the saw I scrutinized was very rough and hard to slide, I believe a bearing was bad. I then gathered up some square squares and went to work. The fence was out by a smidge and the detents were sloppy. Another thing that I checked was the blade height while sliding with the depth stop in use. not good. I use a slider to cut angled half laps in 4×4s so the blade height staying the same while sliding is a big deal for me. Another thing I noticed is how cheap the plastic and even metal casting looked.
The motor looked very puny, the miter scale was very small for a 12 inch saw.

These are just my opinions that I thought I would share. Its hard to judge a tool while its on the shelf but in this case, it was clear to me. I do have to say that the blade did stay very straight when sliding the saw.

It takes a bit of work sometimes to set up a CPMS for all of it!!!
