Topic tags/keywords: question bandsaw blade

Has anyone out there tried these bandsaw blades from LeeValley? (link below)

Woodslicer and Timberwolf blades seem to be the popular choice for resaw blades but I can’t seem to find them locally in Canada and I don’t really want to order online. Lee Valley has these ones in stock but they’re much more expensive in comparison to the Woodslicer and Timberwolf blades. I don’t mind paying more if it’s a superior product but I haven’t heard anything about these blades. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I’ve had the woodslicer for a while.

I’m a LV addict

BUT, for what it’s worth I would still get 2 woodslicer blades for the same price as a single blade from LV. I don’t believe anything can cut twice as good as the woodslicer (comparing prices) – unless it’s carbide blade and will keep it’s edge for a long long time but those usually are even more expensive.

my $0.02

What’s that Viking blade LV is selling then? From their wording I thought Timberwolf changed their name to Viking, but appears not. It seems like LV is sourcing the blades directly from the manufacturer instead of through Timberwolf?

I’ve wondered the same thing. Anyone have the scoop on Viking/Timberwolf?

UPDATE:

I went down to LV this weekend and just picked up the 1/2” Viking blade. The salesperson was completely lost when asked about their “Resaw” blades, oh well. Anyways, I’d love to try the blade out and tell you guys all about it but my basement flooded on Saturday and is a complete mess right now.

Basement workshops in Southern Manitoba… apparently a bad idea.

I’ve tried most of the popular ones.
Woodslicer is worth every penny including the postage.
I would have a hard time switching away from a product this good.

P.s. I’m a Lee Valley supporter but in this case Woodslicer has it.
