Got a call today from a friend who was trying to use spray on poly on an oak cabinet and it turned cloudy in spots. There was a caot of wax on it already and I think the two didn’t interact well. Thoughts on removing the poly and the cloudness? He has tried mineral spirits with no luck. I suggested using 400 grit sandpaper but not sure if that would work.

Thoughts?

I’m afraid your friend has a big issue already ,all the wax should have been removed before finishing. All he can really do is sand it back with 150 and make sure all the old finish is off sand up to 180 and then clean with naptha and refinish.
