In my other post where I was lamenting the state of the economy and my issues I mentioned applying for a a job where they offered me an estimators job. The last meeting was early friday and I had given up hope they'd call. I planned today to call a friend and help him mow lawns.
Well I got a call from the owner he'd like me to start tuesday. I said great and then he said as far as the salary, what I had asked for would be fine. Cool!
I found out about this company when I was trying to apply for a much lower paying driving job. It just shows to go you you really have no control over where this life takes you, not directly.
To my fellow LJ'ers still looking I hope it changes for you soon. But frankly I could be back here in a week telling you why they fired me or I quit. Here's to hoping not.
I know I won't quit if for no other reason than my wife will really kill me, I mean really kill me!
great JAGWAH! congrats on the new job and getting the salary you asked for. My 3 year old was watching me type this and wants to know if you are Santa Claus? lol.
Congratulations. I had read your other post the other day and was really happy to see this positive outcome for you. I work in banking and was on a call with our economists yesterday, and for the first time in a long time the economic news was fairly positive. This will be a slow recovery, but the indicators are growing more positive. I'm very happy to see anyone find a job, especially a decent job, right now.
Way to go Jag! Glad that will be a load off your mind… the pressure of trying to find work when others are dependent on you is a hardship and I pray that everyone looking will find what they are looking for.
Good news, Bob. Judging by your projects and their quality, you will be the best estimator this guy has ever had. Might even turn into a superintendent position. You will be an asset to any company. Maybe you willget one of his jobs into a magazine as well. Go get 'em Tiger…oops Jaguar. Rand
Good going Bob. I hope your wife doesnt kill you.. Yeah my wife hasn't been able to find anything either since loosing her job at the first of the year..
yippie…congrats bob..sure am glad the stress will be lifted and you can get back to work…maybe a little dinner out with your wife will be good….now as david was doing….a band saw….some new clamps….and a new spray gun…or if all that is just to much…a box of oreio's cookies with a gallon of whole milk…...
