Hey All
I have an old Rockwell/Delta table saw and the fence doesn’t stay square to the blade when I am adjusting it. I have to eyeball it and take measurements to the blade in two spots every time I adjust the fence to make sure it is square. The fence is the very common tube style one found on many of the older saw. I think I just need to get it adjust but don’t really know how to do that. Anyone got any advice?

Hey Jon
on many older table saws the tube gets flat spots and won’t stay square or even slip. If that’s your problem then the best solution is to replace your fence or table saw.

Replaced the fence with a Delta T2 fence. It works great.

I installed a Jet Exacta fence (Biesemeyer clone) on my old Unisaw, and couldn’t believe the improvement!
I never use a tape to measure for a cut. Just line the curser up on the tape, and lock the fence.
Even sold the orig fence on ebay.

I played with a Delta T-2 fence at a box store, and it seemed like it would work also.

If you do, or have a friend who does welding, plans are available to make your own.

It’s a shame Lowes aren’t selling the Biesemeyers for $50 any more!

Have your say...
