Not really. $264 for a basic no frills 10” CMS is …......not a realistic sell price.

If this was a sliding compound, I buy it.

I’m tossing around the Purchase of a Makita LS1016L or a BOSCH 4410L Both 10” Dual Bevel Sliding Compound Mitre Saws.

I USE to use Amazon as a basis of Price/Shopping Comparison. I DON’T anymore! The Amazon Prices are US. I live in Canada and there is usually a 15 to 20% increase here compared to ANY Retailer in the US.

The Hitachi you show above has Ratings on Amazon that go back as far as December 2007. So it’s an Older Model. (Not necessarily bad) It’s NOT a Slider and I agree with syenefarmer. Amazons Retail Price of $264.00 is Out Of Line!

While I was there I found the Makita (above) Listed at a RETAIL PRICE of $1010.00 Dollars!! Their “Special” Price $502.25. I can buy that Saw UP HERE (+15/20%) at any of 6 different locations at FULL RETAIL prices of from $550.00 to $625.00. Long Way From $1010.00!!

Also found the Bosch (above) Listed at Their RETAIL PRICE of $1100.00 Dollars. Their “Special” Price of $549.00 AND at a second location on there site it was “Special” at $999.00!! Once again, UP HERE, 6 Locations at FULL RETAIL of from $535.00 to $650.00. Their $1100.00??

I THINK Amazon acts as a Drop Shipper for a number of Companies. BUT! Perhaps you can see why I DON’T use Amazon for “Price Comparison/Shopping” anymore.

Good find. its got me wondering if cutting my box parts on a CMS would be worth my time.
