Topic tags/keywords: finishing staining lumber

Please excuse my slight wood gloat, but I’ve never seen nor heard anyone ever say they had blueberry lumber. I was given about 36 inches of 3-4” diameter blueberry trunk, which I slowly dried, then cut into 12” lengths, and then slabbed them out. It is absolutely beautiful – looks like rosewood.

My first intent is to make two of the bookmatched slabs into knife scales. I made a fixed blade knife and want to give it to my son for a gift.

But, I’d like to stain the wood blueberry blue.

=> Does anyone have any ideas where I can get a small amount (pint) of blueberry blue stain?
Can you buy the powdered stuff and mix your own blue?
Where would I get it from?

Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated!
