I have an NT50AE2 that’s been a workhorse for several years. Pulled it out to do some detail work, and it wouldn’t fire. Disassembled it and gave it a thorough cleaning. All of the o-rings were in good shape, so I oiled it, and reassembled it. Now it fires, once. The slide and drive piston go down and drive a brad just fine, but then it doesn’t retract. If I open the blade guide and push the slide back up into position, it will fire again and drive another brad, but still doesn’t retract. It sounds “normal” when I fire it… I figure I must have gotten an o-ring out of position, but I can’t see anything in the diagram that I did wrong. Any ideas? Thanks!!!!

More than likely a head valve o ring (there are 2). O rings are fairly inexpensive so I would replace all the ones in the piston assy . The piston is firing but it is not sealing off to retract the piston.
