Topic tags/keywords: dust collector

I have just installed a Clearvue cyclone with a 3 hp blower and permanent ducting. This means my two stage dust collectors are surplus. I have two of them. 1 full HP, single phase. Can be wired for 120 or 240. Both of them are the kind that has the blower sitting on top of a 55 gallon steel barrel. I have been using 4” flex hoses to connect to the Unisaw and the Makita 2030 jointer/planer. The two stage system means nothing goes through the blower until it gets dumped into the barrel. I have found that very little comes out the blower until the barrel gets about half full of chips and dust. Emptying the barrel is a lot easier than emptying a bag on the conventional dust collector bags. In my shop I have not used any bag on the blower. The fine dust goes in my back yard. When chips fly out the through the blower I know the barrel need dumping. They each have remote controls. If you are in the Sacramento, CA area, come by and make an offer. Call Abe at 916-591-1638.
