We all know about safety in the shop, one slip can ruin a career or a month or two of otherwise productive shop time. I would hope all you folks have fun hobbies & like some here we like Motor sports. I finally took a trip to Moses Lake Wa. this last weekend to ride Quads, dirt bikes & to finally drive a good friends sand rail that I donated a healthy 350 V8 to make it the fastest there. The bunch of folks there were as burly as I’ve seen and could kick yer butt with just a look. I however haven’t ridden the sand for a while and got beat up but good just trying to keep up with these guys. No I did not have a wreck just a small rollover in the sand. But the Main Man who we all think the world of got too “throttle happy” and had a bad endo. “Ass over teakettle” and is still in the hospital with a punctured lung & ruptured disc. I’ll be 53 this june & still act like a kid. I’ve had some falls on jobs but have been lucky not to have had such a tragedy with my motorcycle.

I just want to extend my hopes to all my friends here to “have fun but don’t try to be the fastest” We are here for the long run, not the short one!

PS. Thank goodness the trans broke in the sand rail so no one got banged up in that!
No Mom I’m not ready to change my hobby to collecting stamps yet!
I think in my old age I’ll race a built RX7

Crack me up again!! The 406 is back in the garage so we will see! So much left to do to the Studie but my buds say quit trying to make it perfect, just get it driving & then have some fun. I would like to have it looking as fine as yours Abbott, lately don’t care how fast.;)

I really like it that you remember my challenge to race a while back! What a Bud!

Yep, to that challenge :) ..and I also just love the curves on those 1950s Studebaker truck cabs, they are special.

I understand your post and I have learned the hard way (the same way that I learn everything) that I do not heal as fast as I used to.

My brother-in-law a few years ago was racing stock cars at a local track in MI and the accelerator stuck to the floor coming out of turn 4 and slammed into the wall. He said it really rung his bell and he his no longer racing
